Position Description

We are seeking an Additive Manufacturing and Prototyping Equipment & Tool Technician to join our team in Tukwila, WA. This role will focus on the post-processing of SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) parts, ensuring high-quality finishes and functional performance. You will be responsible for cleaning, sanding, priming, and finishing SLS components to meet customer specifications and engineering requirements. Additional responsibilities include operating and maintaining SLS equipment, preparing build files, and collaborating with customers on design for additive manufacturing.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Post-process SLS parts, including support removal, surface smoothing, and final finishing.
• Apply manual and machine finishing techniques, including sanding, bead blasting, and polishing, to achieve desired part aesthetics and functionality.
• Utilize adhesives, primers, and coatings to enhance part durability and appearance.
• Operate and maintain additive manufacturing equipment, including SLA, SLS, PolyJet, FDM, and DMLS systems.
• Develop and document post-processing workflows for SLS and other additive technologies.
• Work directly with customers to optimize designs for manufacturability and post-processing efficiency.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
• Hands-on experience with post-processing of SLS and other AM parts.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Understanding of adhesives, paints, and surface finishing techniques for AM materials.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in post-processing quality control.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D CAD drawings for post-processing requirements

Preferred qualifications:
• Additive Manufacturing experience
• Design experience; prototyping and part design
• Experience with spray painting and finishing models or assemblies
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced R&D environment
• Ability to collaborate with both our team and our customers
• Focus on customer needs and ability to work directly with customers towards goals

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience acquired through advanced education - Technical Associate Degree; and typically, 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).
